The Quest

The Quest is NOT the enlightened crusade, which involves the gathering of the masses, with a single statement of intent NOR does it herald the long arduous march towards the promised land under the "banner' of Jesus. It is simply one's personal mission in life, that of radiating God's Love for us. We do not have to share words or phrases, nor does it require us to preach or teach; for God's Spirit was placed in us all. We have all experienced His closeness, though few would admit to it, or even recognise it.

The church has monopolised His love, being the gatekeeper of our salvation. It angers me as to how some have born false witness on His behalf: how they claim to portray His works without the prerequisites of love, compassion and humility. Inside I am crying at the sheer futility, of people’s efforts, coaxing others to follow them into the sinking mire of lost hopes.

How I wish we could start afresh. Let us live the new life, the new promise, the one that says that the Law has been completed. The one that frees us from the need to gain knowledge and expertise. The one that avoids complexities of thought but resides instead in the beautiful simplicity of God's Love.

Man places a burden on us all: to care and provide for those in need; stressing the importance of life and well-being, ensuring that we seek money and influence, to undertake acts of goodwill, so we aspire to positions of high status, in order to change the thoughts of those around us. This power enables us to exercise control over wealth and resources in the vain belief that we can then create happiness.

However, underneath the trappings of material well-being, we still remain isolated, perhaps even more so, for our striving for uniqueness merely concentrates the mind on the superficial aspects of our lives. Indeed, it is only when we are alone with God that our real loneliness disappears and unity with others begins.
